A single disaster can change our entire life and as human beings, we have very limited control over our life and events. The biggest benefit of giving Sadaqah is that it removes the Clamaites and it is promised by the Prophet Muhammad PBUH in the following Hadith:

“Give Sadaqah without delay, for it stands in the way of calamity” (Tirmidhi).

We can protect ourselves and our loved ones from calamities and hardships by giving the Sadaqah regularly. Allah has created this word to test our faith and loyalty through ease and hardships. For instance, we can give sadaqah if we have committed a major sin and now we want forgiveness to save ourselves from the impact of that sin. Additionally, sadaqah shields us from the impact of the sins that we commit in our everyday life unconsciously.

 

3. Saves You From The Hellfire

The ultimate goal of every Muslim is to save himself/herself from hellfire on the day of judgment and secure a place in paradise. We should spend our life in a way that we can protect ourselves from the punishment of fire. A small act of Sadaqah that may seem irrelevant to us can act as a shield from hellfire if Allah wishes. The Prophet Muhammad PBUH emphasizes this thing in the following Hadith:

“Treat your sick ones with charity.” (Saheeh al-Jaami)

Though we should not expect any worldly or materialistic return for sadaqah. But in the 9th verse of Surah Al-Maidah Allah says:

“Allah has promised those who believe and do deeds of righteousness, that for them there is forgiveness and a great reward”

In this verse Allah has promised to reward us for very good deeds we do in this life and the same goes for Sadaqah. Allah is indeed the most generous. He has promised to multiply the reward 700 times in verse 261.of Surah Al-Baqarah .

Allah says:

“The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a (sowing) seed that grows in 7 spikes; in each spike, there are 100 grains and Allah gives manifold increase to whomever He pleases. Allah is All-Sufficient, All-Knowing.”

6. Sadaqah Offers The Shade Of Allah On the Day Of Judgement

On the day of judgment, everyone will try to find shade for themselves as the burning sun will be right above our heads. There will not be any shade except for the shade of Allah. It will be our good deed that will help us find shade and Sadaqah is one of those acts.

The Prophet (saw) said: “The believer’s shade on the Day of Resurrection will be his charity.” (Tirmidhi)

In another Hadith Prophet, PBUH said that the one who gives sadaqah secretly that even this left hand doesn’t know what the right hand has given away is very loved and special to Allah and will be rewarded by Allah’s shade on the day of judgment. (Bukhari)

 

7. Sadaqah Is A Way To Paradise

Those who give Sadaqah regularly are special people of Allah and will be called to enter Paradise through a special entrance called “Bab-ul-Sadaqah”. The ultimate destination of every Muslim is to enter Paradise and sadaqah is one of these good deeds that will help us make our way to paradise. Paradise has 8 gates in total and one of them is the gate of sadaqah or the game of charity.

“The Prophet said, “Anybody who spends a pair of something in the cause of Allah will be called from all the gates of Paradise, ‘O Allah’s slave! This is well.’ He who is amongst those who pray will be called from the gate of the prayer and he who is from the people of Jihad will be called from the door of Jihad, and he who is from those who give in charity will be called from the door of charity, and he who is amongst those who observe fast will be called from the gate of fasting, the door of Raiyan.” (Sahih al-Bukhari)

The straight meaning of Taqwa is fear of Allah. It has the feeling of fear that propels a human being to obey Allah’s command and refrain from all acts and practices that are forbidden by Allah. Allah says in Quran:

“The noblest of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous.” [49:13]

In order to succeed in this world and hereafter, it’s crucial to become righteous and you can do it by making Sadaqah a part of your life. In verse 93 of surah Aal e Imran Allah says:

“You will not achieve taqwa until you donate some of what you cherish, and whatever you give is certainly well known to Allah”. [3:93]
